Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Assistant to the President for Research and
Internationalization, presided over the welcome ceremony for 15
students and Prof. Takano Takeshi from Prefectural University of Kumamoto
(PUK), on the occasion of the official visiting Kasetsart University.

The visit
aimed to provide Japanese students with an opportunity to experience cultural
diversity and engage with Thai students. During their visit, the delegation
participated in an educational program in Thailand from December 2
to 6, 2024. The program included
visits to cultural and historical sites, as well as a local school in Rayong
Province. They also toured the Bangkhen Campus and engaged in interactive
activities with KU students, fostering understanding and friendship through
introductions and discussions.

The 15 students from PUK are currently studying Public
Administration and Business Administration. They are particularly interested in
social and cultural topics in Asian countries, especially Thailand.
Additionally, they are keen to explore the acceptance and popularity of
Japanese culture, such as films, animations, cartoons, and pop music, in
Thailand, while also learning about modern Thai cultural trends.

Prof.
Takano Takeshi had previously visited Kasetsart University’s Kamphaeng Saen
Campus with students in 2012 and 2014,
where he was warmly welcomed by faculty and administrative staff, including Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Sombat Chinawong, Faculty of Agriculture, and Mr. Wisit Detkamthorn.
The visits featured campus tours, student exchange activities, and the signing
of the MoU between KU and PUK to strengthen academic cooperation.

Following
this year’s campus tour at Bangkhen, the delegation attended a video
presentation about Kasetsart University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath
officially welcomed the group and provided a broad overview of the university.
Prof. Takano Takeshi expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for this visit.

The event
also included presentations by KU students and PUK students, allowing both
sides to share their knowledge and experiences. The students were divided into
3 groups: Group 1 presented by Kasetsart University students on the topic of
Bangkok Highlights-Where foreigners should visit; Group 2 presented by
Kasetsart University students on the topic of Thai Dessert; and Group 3 presented
by PUK students on the topic of We are PUK Students! The activities concluded
with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath presented souvenirs to the PUK
delegation as a token of friendship between the two institutions, followed by a
group photo to commemorate the occasion.
