Discussions with administrators from Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10.00 a.m., Meeting Room 10, 2nd Floor, Kasetsart University Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and KU administrators, namely Prof. Dr. Wanwipa Vongsangnak, the Acting Dean of Kasetsart University International College (KUIC); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuttakan Nitayapat, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Agro-Industry; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Donludee Jaisut, Associate Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Agriculture; Asst. Prof. Dr. Suphasit Sitthaphanit, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry; Miss Wanida Kammani, Foreign Relations Officer, Faculty of Economics; and IAD representatives welcomed delegates from Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China, led by Prof. Dr. ZHU Yan, Vice President; CHEN Jie, Head of Office of International Relations, College of International Education; and FENG Rong, Coordinator of Office of International Relations, College of International Education.

This visit to KU took place to discuss 3 specific topics; (1) student exchange and academic mobility, (2) joint research and innovation in food security, agricultural technology, or climate change, etc., and (3) summer school. NAU is one of the oldest agricultural universities in China, with a history spanning more than 122 years. It offers academic programs through 20 colleges and has over 31,000 students, supported by more than 3,000 faculty members and staff.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad mentioned that KU would send a draft MoU to NAU for consideration in renewing it and moving forward with the proposed projects. The KU administrators plan to visit NAU during the first week of May 2025 to attend an international conference and discuss each project in greater detail. NAU will provide information about this international conference to KU’s administrators through the KU’s International Affairs Division coordinator.
