representatives welcomed H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh
to the Kingdom of Thailand and the Counsellor on the
occasion of the Ambassador's first official visit to KU.
H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi expressed Bangladesh's interest in
exchanging knowledge with KU in the fields of agriculture and
forestry, recognizing KU as Thailand's leading university in these disciplines. Additionally, he highlighted the potential for collaboration
in the field of medicine, as KU recently established its Faculty of Medicine
and is preparing to construct the KU Hospital. He also
noted that many Bangladeshi citizens travel to Thailand as medical tourists.
Additionally, H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi addressed the issue of climate change,
which has adversely impacted agricultural yields in Bangladesh, leading to
health problems among its citizens. He emphasized that
Bangladesh could benefit from learning agricultural processes from KU to
address these challenges. Furthermore, he praised KU for
incorporating knowledge about the SDGs into its curriculum and for its
application of artificial intelligence.
After the discussion, H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi presented books as a souvenir to Dr. Damrong Sripraram, who, in turn, presented a Benjarong ceramic
gift to H.E. Mr. Faiyaz
Murshid Kazi as a token of appreciation. H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi also
congratulated KU on being ranked as the number one green university in Thailand
for the fourth consecutive year (as ranked by the UI Green
Metric World University Ranking 2024). The meeting
concluded with a group photo of all participants.
