From December 1-7, 2024, 5 staff
members from the International Affairs Division, led by Mrs. Hathaitus
Semchuchot, Acting Director of International Affairs Division; Miss Rujira
Pongjetsupan, Foreign Relations Officer, Professional Level; Mrs.
Achiraya Nunes Galante, Foreign Relations Officer, Professional Level; Miss
Thiwara Thatthana, Foreign Relations Officer, Operational Level; and Miss
Methawee Sarnkong, Foreign Relations Officer, Operational Level visited Meijo
University in Nagoya, Japan, for a study visit under the Staff Mobility Service
Platform, a staff exchange program for international affairs officers.
On December 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., Dr. Hirokazu
Okamoto, Vice President of Meijo University, and Dr. Muto,
Chief Executive Director, warmly welcomed the delegation on behalf of Meijo
University. Following the welcoming remarks, both sides
exchanged overviews of their respective universities, and the International
Affairs Division of KU introduced its organizational information.
On December 3, 2024, at 9:20 a.m., the delegation visited the Office of
Academic and Student Affairs, with presentations by Ms. Yuka
Ito, Mr. Takeshi Tominaga, Manager, and Mr. Atsushi
Suzuki, Manager. In the afternoon, following lunch, the
delegation visited the Center for Community Relations to learn how the
university encourages students to create projects or initiatives that benefit
the community, presented by Mr. Ryoji Saiki, Manager. At 4:00 p.m., the delegation toured the Academic Research Support Center to
learn about rice research conducted at Meijo University, presented by Mr. Tomohiro Ohnishi.
On December 4, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the delegation visited the Nagoya Dome
Mae Campus to observe and participate in a Thai Language and Culture II class. Following this, they attended a presentation on Study Abroad
Programs delivered by Mr. Masahiro Arizono and Mr. Shigeo Inaba, Manager, and toured the Global Plaza. At 1:30 p.m. the group proceeded to the Yagoto Campus to visit the Faculty
of Pharmacy, where they attended a briefing by Ms. Saki
Kobayashi and Mr. Tetsuya Tamaki, Manager. The
day concluded with a return to the Tempaku Campus for a tour of the student
dormitory.
On December 5, 2024, at 10:15 p.m., the delegation attended a briefing
about the Admissions Office delivered by Mr. Shinichi
Okamoto, General Manager. Following this, a Farewell Lunch
was held on the 15th floor, Mrs. Hathaitus Semchuchot expressed
gratitude on behalf of the International Affairs Division to Meijo University
for hosting the study visit. At 1:30 p.m., the group toured the Career Center and
observed a mock job interview session for students, guided by Mr.
Junta Watanabe, Manager, and Mr. Koji Minemura,
General Manager. The study visit concluded with a
presentation by the Kasetsart University International Affairs Division,
summarizing key takeaways from the visit. The day ended
with a group photo to commemorate the experience.
This study visit was made possible thanks to the generous
support of the staff from the Office of International Affairs, led by Dr. Fumihiko Tsumura, Director of the Office of International
Affairs and Meijo International Education and Research Center (MIERC); Mr. Kazuyori Aoyama, General Manager; Mr. Keisuke Hishida, Manager; Mr. Jurai
Hirata, International Exchange Coordinator; and Ms. Tomomi
Ishikawa. Their assistance, warm welcome, guidance, and
thorough provision of information were invaluable, from the pre-departure
preparations to ensuring the delegation’s safe return to
Thailand.
