On Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Thira
Sutabutra Auditorium, 2nd floor, Golden Jubilee Administration and Information
Center Building, Kasetsart University, Bang Khen Campus, Associate Professor
Dr. Nisa Leksungnoen, Assistant to the President for Research and
Internationalization; Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to
the President for International Affairs; Mrs. Hathaitus Semchuchot, Acting
Director of International Affairs Division; Mrs. Achiraya Nunes Galante, Foreign
Relations Officer, Professional Level; Miss Pratthana Thirakiettikun, Head of
International Collaboration and Networking Section, and personnel from the
International Affairs Division, warmly welcomed faculty members and students
participating in the KU-KU Exchange Program 2024, titled "Integrated
Agricultural Development and BCG Economy," at the Closing Ceremony of the
Short-Term Student Exchange Program between Kasetsart University and Kyoto
University for the Year 2024. The program ran for two weeks, from 3 – 14
September 2024, with the ceremony attended by 14 Japanese and Chinese students
from various faculties, along with Professor Eiji Nawata, Director of the Kyoto
University ASEAN Center, Professor Hirokazu Higuchi, and Professor Hiroshi
Kamitakahara from the Graduate School of Agriculture.

The presentations by students of
Kyoto University were divided into four groups, with each group given 15
minutes:
Group 1: Why is the agriculture
industry in Thailand so active? The difference between Japan and Thailand.
Other Topics: Shrimp Production, Mangrove Forests, Visiting KU, Agriculture and
Technology, Agriculture and Mountainous Areas, Hmong and Karen Villages, and
Conclusion
Group 2: Nature in Thailand- it is
inspired by an ecosystem different from Japan. Other topics: Dry Dipterocarps
Forest in Sakaerat, Insects and Moths, Birds in Thailand
Group 3: Agriculture in Thailand,
Other topics; Tropical Monsoon Climate, Functions of Mangroves, Survival
Strategies of Dry Dipterocarps Forest, Expert of agriculture in Thailand, and
Thai Government Economic Policy (BCG)
Group 4: Thai Food – Spicy,
Sweet, and Sour. Other topics: Thai Food and Japanese Food, Bananas with Sticky
Rice (Khao Tom Madt)

After the presentations, the
Japanese students engaged in Q&A on the topics presented. Professor
Hirokazu Higuchi from the Graduate School of Agriculture summarized the
Japanese students’ presentations on topics related to Thailand, based on their
field trips and studies along Thailand’s coastal areas and various provinces,
expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by Kasetsart University.

Associate Professor Dr. Nisa
Leksungnoen, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization,
then presented certificates to the Kyoto University students who participated
in the KU-KU Exchange Program 2024. In her remarks, she congratulated both
universities on their strong relationship, which has fostered cooperation for
more than 10 years, and expressed hope that the Kyoto University students had
gained valuable knowledge, experience, and lasting impressions throughout the
two-week exchange in Thailand. The ceremony concluded with a group photo of all
participants, marking the official end of the KU-KU Short-Term Student Exchange
Program between Kasetsart University and Kyoto University.
