On Monday, October 7th, 2024, at 02:00 p.m., in Meeting Room 10, 10th floor, Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization; along with KU administrators, namely Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerasak E-kobon, Vice Dean for Educational Standards Assurance, Graduate School; Asst. Prof. Dr.rer.Soc Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; and IAD representatives welcomed administrators and academics from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste (MESCC), led by Dr. Acácio Cardoso Amaral, President of Betano Polytechnic Institute; Dr. Carmelindo Caetano, National Director of Ministry of Justice; Dr. Fernando Gama, National Director of Ministry of Education; and Sr. José Piato, National Adviser.

The visit of the delegation from MESCC to Kasetsart University was to discuss and gather information on the doctoral programs offered by the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Fisheries, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, to enhance the quality of higher education programs in Timor-Leste. Additionally, the delegation visited all three faculties in sequence on Thursday, October 10, 2024. In August 2024, the delegation from MESCC held discussions with the ASEAN University Network (AUN) of Thailand with the same objective of enhancing the quality of higher education. The talks also covered student exchange programs, scholarships, joint research, and other activities.

Dr. Acácio Cardoso Amaral met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Republic of the Philippines, on September 23-24, 2024, during the committee meeting of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC). Before the discussion began, Dr. Acácio Cardoso Amaral gave an overview of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. Following that, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerasak E-kobon presented the roles and responsibilities of Kasetsart University's Graduate School as a guide for the delegation from MESCC. During the exchange of gifts, Dr. Acácio Cardoso Amaral presented a handwoven fabric to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath as a symbol of honor.
