KU welcomed the delegation from Durham University, United Kingdom

On Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in the meeting room of the International Affairs Division, 10th floor, Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus, Prof. Dr. Dokrak Marod, Vice President for Research and International Affairs, along with university executives including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nisa Leksungnoen, Assistant to the President for Research and International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chawalit Kittichaikarn, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, and Chair of the IUP Program, warmly welcomed a delegation from Durham University, United Kingdom, led by Mr. Richard Lancaster, Deputy Head of International, and Ms. Lim Ching Mei, Regional Director for Southeast Asia.

 

The delegation from Durham University provided an introduction and broad overview of the university, one of the oldest in the UK, founded in 1832. Durham University is recognized for its academic excellence and research, comprising three faculties and one school: the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health, and the Durham University Business School. Each faculty includes a variety of specialized fields, with the Department of Engineering housed within the Faculty of Science. Notably, Durham’s law and business programs are ranked among the best in the world. Additionally, Durham University is ranked 89th in the QS World University Rankings, which evaluates universities globally.

 

The Durham University delegation’s visit to Kasetsart University aimed to discuss potential collaborations in student exchanges and explore partnerships between faculties with shared interests. Initial discussions have already been held to establish cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering, and further talks are planned to extend partnerships with other faculties in the future.
