KU welcomed delegates from Nims University Rajasthan-Jaipur (NIMS), India and AUAP

On Thursday, September 5th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in Meeting Room No. 9, 2nd floor of the Kasetsart Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apisit Songsasen, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, along with KU administrators and lecturers, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nisa Leksungnoen, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization; Assoc. Prof. Major General Dr. Saisamorn Chaleoykitti, Acting Dean of Faculty of Nursing and IAD representatives welcomed delegations from Nims University Rajasthan-Jaipur (NIMS), India, led by Prof. Dr. Balvir Singh Tomar, Founder and Chancellor; Prof.Deepak Nathiya, Director, International Affairs; Ms. Supaporn Chuangchid, Executive Secretary, AUAP; and Mr. Krittiphattharaphong Punsuchart, Administrative Officer, AUAP on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University to discuss academic collaboration.

NIMS, founded in 2000, is the largest self-financed university in Northern India (Rajasthan) and has been ranked as the 5th best medical college in India (ranked by India Today). It has over 25,000 students, of which more than 5,000 are international students. The university's philosophy is “Your heroic saga of excellence begins here.” The Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) is an organization that serves as a central body for knowledge exchange among its member universities and is currently in the process of considering NIMS for membership.

After all the participants watched the introductory video about KU, Prof. Dr. Balvir Singh Tomar praised KU as an outstanding and impressive university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apisit Songsasen proposed initiating collaboration through small-scale online symposiums in specialized fields such as medical science, science, and technology. From there, the partnership could expand to include student and staff exchange programs in the future. Additionally, Prof. Deepak Nathiya suggested that NIMS would be willing to support KU's Faculty of Medicine, as it is a newly established faculty. NIMS’ Faculty of Medical Sciences is now 25 years old. After the discussions, souvenirs were exchanged, followed by a group photo session.
