MOU Signing Ceremony between Kasetsart University and East and West International Education (EWIE), China

On 28 November 2023 at 09.30 a.m., in meeting room 9, on the 2nd floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building at Kasetsart University. Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University attended the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Kasetsart University and East and West International Education (EWIE), China. The President of KU is the authorized signatory for Kasetsart University and Mr. Wang Huanchen CEO of East & West Institute for International Education and Beijing Wiseway Consulting Co., Ltd. is the authorized signatory for East and West International Education (EWIE), China.

On this occasion, Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University along with administrators and faculty Kasetsart University consists of Associate Professor Dr. Ladawan Puangchit, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Associate Professor Dr. Wanwipa Vongsangnak, Deputy Director of Kasetsart University International College and Head of Academic Affairs; Associate Professor Dr. Apisit Songsasen, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Assistant Professor Dr. Thongrob Ruenbanthoeng, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Associate Professor Dr. Srijidtra Charoenlarpnopparut, Dean of the Graduate School; Associate Professor Dr. Manasanan Hatthasak, Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Pathamaporn Sripadungtham, Vice Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering; Miss Prattana Thirakiettikun, Head of the International Collaboration and Networking Section; and personnel of the International Affairs Division welcomed the official visit to Kasetsart University of the delegation from ACTU and East & West Institute for International Education (EWIE), consisting of Mr. E Xuewen, Secretary-General, Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU); Dr. Jidapa Chollahanrattanapong, Deputy Secretary of ACTU, Deputy Director of International Affairs, Siam University; Mr. Jun Xiaojun, Vice President of East & West Institute for International Education (EWIE); Mr. Wang Huanchen CEO, East & West Institute for International Education and Beijing Wiseway Consulting Co., Ltd., and Mr. Feng Jishang, Director of Program Development (EWIE).

Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University welcomed the delegation and expressed his congratulations at the signing ceremony of the memorandum of academic cooperation between Kasetsart University and East and West International Education (EWIE), China. KU hopes that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today will lead to academic cooperation and collaboration to build and develop a stronger educational network between Thailand and China. Then, Mr. E Xuewen, Secretary-General, Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU), joined in congratulating and said that it was an honor to visit Kasetsart University for the first time. The Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU) came to promote and support this cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

After the MOU signing ceremony, the delegation of East and West International Education (EWIE), China discussed the collaboration with the administrators and faculty of Kasetsart University. The cooperation between the two universities was coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Wanwipa Vongsangnak, Deputy Director of Kasetsart University International College and Head of Academic Affairs, who had prior discussed with the executives of East and West International Education (EWIE), China about establishing the memorandum of understanding between the two institutions. The objective of the MOU is to participate in the establishment of the Sino-Thai International Education Center at Kasetsart University International College in supporting academic activities as well as creating an international teaching curriculum for Chinese students. Therefore, Kasetsart University considered the possibility of organizing this collaboration and organized today’s MOU signing ceremony.

The meeting further discussed collaboration activities that will occur in the future especially in establishing the Sino-Thai International Education Center, promoting student exchange in various courses such as short-term exchange programs, support in graduate school courses, KUSEP exchange program courses such as the Faculty of Science can support 2+2, 3+1, joint research in Ph.D., 1+1 in Master's degree, tailor-made program, etc., including creating exchange courses in Soft Power in language, culture, and tourism of both countries. The signing of this MOU will lead to initiatives for academic cooperation, research, and sustainable development soon.
