The 11th Bilateral Conference between Kasetsart University and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology

On 6 November 2023 at 9:00 a.m., at Thira Sutabutra Meeting Room, the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building at Kasetsart University, Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs presided over the Welcoming remarks of the 11th Bilateral Conference Theme: Agricultural Science and Technology for SDGs, Sub-theme: Climate change/Zero carbon/Smart agriculture/Sustainable agri-food system between Kasetsart University and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan, along with Professor Shang- Min Ma, Vice President for Education, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan, honored to deliver the Speech Remarks in welcoming the distinguished participants.

 

In this regard, Kasetsart University partners with the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology scheduled to organize the 11th Bilateral Conference Kasetsart University and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology on the topic “Agricultural Science and Technology for SDGs” Sub-theme: Climate change/Zero carbon/Smart agriculture/Sustainable agri-food system” between 6 – 7 November 2023 at the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building at Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus. The two institutions jointly organized the event to provide an opportunity for 21 faculty members of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology from the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Faculty of Forestry, and Faculty of Fisheries, and 10 faculty members of Kasetsart University, to have the opportunity to discuss and exchange knowledge about agriculture, agro-industry as well as other related fields. The purpose of this symposium is for faculty members and researchers to present their research progress and to foster relationships leading to the exchange of knowledge among each other.  The symposium consisted of oral presentations and group discussions on the theme of Agricultural Science and Technology for SDGs, divided into 3 sessions. Participants included: faculty members and researchers from both institutions in Agriculture, Agro-industry, Food Science, Economics, Forestry, Aquaculture, Animal Science, and Fisheries, with the session chair of each session determining each presentation. Session chairs are as follows. Session 1, Assistant Professor Dr. Sasitorn Tongchitpakdee, Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agro-Industry; Session 2, Associate Professor Dr. Worachart Wisawapipat, Deputy Head of the Agronomy Department for International Affairs, Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture; Session 3, Dr. Sila Sukhavachana, Department of Aquaculture and Ajarn Piyajit Pratipasen, Department of Fishery Biology, Faculty of Fisheries. In the afternoon, the participants of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) went on a study tour into groups in various faculties, namely the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Forestry, and Faculty of Fisheries, respectively, and attended a reception during the reception dinner at Ballroom C, Maruay Garden Hotel.

 

On 7 November 2023, the International Affairs Division of Kasetsart University led a group of participants from the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) on a field trip to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, a city of history and famous ancient sites such as Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, and Wat Chaiwatthanaram which is all ancient and beautiful made a great impression on the participants.
