On 20 October 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at the Embassy of France in Bangkok, Associate Professor Dr. Ladawan Puangchit, Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with Associate Professor Dr.  General Chumpol Piamsomboon, representatives of Kasetsart University attended the signing ceremony of the General Agreement for Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), the Republic of France, and Kasetsart University. It was the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The original memorandum of understanding had expired on 30 December 2013. The signing ceremony was honored by the Minister of Higher Education and Research of the French Republic, Madame Sylvie Retailleau, and Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, the French Ambassador to Thailand as well as representatives from agencies and educational institutions in Thailand and the Republic of France are witnesses of this time. Moreover, Kasetsart University and IRD have initiated academic and research activities since 2002.
