On October 11, 2023, Mr. Vilavath Thephithack, newly appointed Educational-Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Bangkok, paid a courtesy call on Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupa, Vice President for International Affairs, and administrative members of Kasetsart University, including Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Assistant to the President for Quality Development, Director of Institute of Food Research and Product Development (IFRPD), and Acting Secretary of Princess Sirindhorn Center for Sustainable Development.  Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen and enhance the close relationship between the Lao Embassy and Kasetsart University, especially short-term and long-term training programs for students, farmers, entrepreneurs and government officials of Lao PDR, in agriculture, food and agricultural product processing, marketing, supply chain management, forest restoration and conservation.  Kasetsart University additionally requested the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to help connect Kasetsart University with partner universities in Lao PDR, namely National University of Laos, Souphanouvong University and Savannakhet University, for expedited communication process of establishing new or renewing MOUs.  The Educational-Cultural Counsellor also met Lao students who had been studying in master’s and doctoral degree programs at Kasetsart University, and gave his advice on studying and living in Thailand and informed of the Embassy's future activities where doctorate students and research fellows could involve in collaborative research with Kasetsart University and some Thai government agencies.  Besides, head of the Lao students shared his opinions and experience of study and living in Kasetsart University as well as building a KU alumni networks.
