Collaboration and Networking Section; and personnel of the International
Affairs Division welcomed the official visit to Kasetsart University of Professor
Katsutoshi Sakurai, President of Kochi University, Japan and his delegates
consisting of Professor Kou Ikejima, Vice President for Education, and Mr. Yasuhiro
Ueno, Head of Funding and Alumni Division.
On this
occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Ladawan Puangchit, Vice President for
Academic Affairs welcomed and said that Kasetsart University and Kochi
University have had a close relationship for a long time. Both universities are
committed to working actively and closely to develop mutually beneficial
activities and thank you for continuing collaboration, and for visiting KU today.
Professor Katsutoshi Sakurai, President of Kochi University, Japan, expressed
his gratitude for the warm welcome and wishes to strengthen relations and
academic cooperation between the two universities in many faculties and various
fields of study, continually expanding cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry,
Fisheries, Science, Medicine, Social Sciences, and Humanities that were
participated in today’s meeting.
In
summary, the meeting discussed with the delegation from Kochi University on various
agendas as follows: organizing a joint seminar for students and staff; connecting
collaboration and relationships with new generations of academics and researchers
in various activities, especially in the fisheries field. In addition, today’s discussion
also covers the creation of cooperation and joint activities with the Faculty
of Forestry, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, and the
Faculty of Medicine, such as summer camps for students, a one-semester
scholarship program for ASEAN +6 students on the occasion of the 80th
anniversary of Kasetsart University (KU OSSPAS), Double Degree Program, Credit
transfer for students, online courses and short courses, etc. After that, the
president of Kochi University, Japan, had lunch and visited the Faculty of
Fisheries and Faculty of Forestry, meeting with alumni of Kochi University respectively.
