On Tuesday 5 September 2023, at 10.00
a.m., in meeting room 201 on the 2nd floor of the Vachiranusorn Building,
Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus, Associate
Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International
Affairs presided over to welcome and deliver the welcoming remarks, along with
administrators and faculty members, consisting of Associate Professor Dr.
Sudsaisin Kaewrueng, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of
Agriculture; Associate Professor Dr. Nuttakan Nitayapat, Associate Dean for
International Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Nattasamon Petchsang, Assistant
Dean for Research and International Affairs, Faculty of Science; and university
personnel of Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science, and the International
Affairs Division at Kasetsart University; welcomed 12 Students Exchange Program
from Kyoto University led by Professor Eiji Nawata, Director of Kyoto
University ASEAN Center and 2 Professors namely Prof. Hirokazu Higuchi and Prof.
Hiroshi Kamitakahara, Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University.
Then, Associate Professor Dr. Sudsaisin
Kaewrueng, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture attended
the opening ceremony of the Student Exchange Program between Kasetsart
University and Kyoto University which will be held from 4
– 16 September 2023 and gave further information about
Kasetsart University via video presentation; and a special lecture on
“Agriculture in Thailand,” which consists of the topic related to Thailand’s
Agriculture such as the climate, land utilization, rice production in Thailand,
world rice production and consumption, Thailand agriculture goal, high-cost
rice production risks in market development, rice trading in the world market,
commodities share by regions of Thailand, and export of Thai rice products. The
lecture has received a lot of interest from the students of Kyoto University.
All participants of the
Short-Term Student Exchange Program from Kyoto University are on 10 days
scheduled on a field trip to Chiang Mai to study agricultural work at Ob Luang
National Park. In addition, there are scheduled trips to visit Ayutthaya,
Ratchaburi, Chachoengsao, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Lop Buri to study arts,
culture, fishery, forestry, and agriculture respectively. The closing ceremony
will be held on 15 September 2023 at the Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart
University. The student exchange program between Kasetsart University and Kyoto
University is a collaborative activity under the Memorandum of Understanding,
which was conducted over 10 years depicting the strong bond between two
universities in collaboration.
Kasetsart University in
cooperation with Kyoto University is continuously organizing a short-term
student exchange program between the two universities. The program is a
cross-cultural exchange program. This two-week visit program is organized for
Japanese students to study the academic knowledge of agriculture, fisheries,
forestry, agro-industry, economics, and related fields at Kasetsart University.
