On September 1, 2023, two
representatives of University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia, namely Professor Lyn Alderman, Dean, Academic
Transformation and Professor Jo-Anne
Ferreira, Dean, Learning and Teaching Futures visited Kasetsart University to share
online learning and teaching best practice, to follow up
on Cotutelle articulation arrangements, and to introduce UniSQ micro-credential strategy for engineering, how UniSQ
might collaborate with Kasetsart University by enabling cohorts to undertake
them, as part of their home curriculum (for credit). They had an academic
discussion with Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupa,
Vice President for International Affairs, and administrative members of
Kasetsart University, comprising Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak
Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Assistant
Professor Dr. Udomluk Koolsriroj, Vice Dean for International Affairs, the Faculty
of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Patamaporn
Sripadungtham, Associate Dean for International Affairs, the Faculty of
Engineering and Assistant Professor Dr. Sombat
Khawprateep, the Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen. Both sides agreed to discuss further
details about quality education, which is Sustainable
Development Goal 4 among of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by
the United Nations, to promote lifelong learning opportunities for students and
people, not only between the countries but also across regions. Recently, the Faculty of Education,
Kasetsart University has been developing COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) projects
with international partner universities, especially in Japan, while the School
of Integrated Science provides SIS models, offering non-degree programs, short-term courses and
credit bank, for people from all walks of life to promote employee engagement
and better responsiveness of skills supply to current and future labor market needs. According to their discussion,
some future plans of activities between both universities included co-publications, joint research, comparative studies, visiting
professors, student mobility, exchange of faculty, and bilateral symposium.
