Discussion between KU and the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia

On Thursday, 24 April 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the Meeting Room 10, 10th Floor, the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Asst. Prof. Krit Won-in, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovations and Social Missions, and KU lecturers and administrators, namely Assoc. Prof. Donludee Jaisut, Ph.D., Deputy Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture; Assoc. Prof. Siripon Anantawaraskul, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research Affairs and Innovation, Faculty of Engineering; Asst. Prof. Jiramate Changklom, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Thanankhorn Jaiphong, Assistant Dean for Innovation and Social Impact Partnerships, Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen; Asst. Prof. Sombat Khawprateep, Ph.D., Department of Farm Mechanics, Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen; Asst. Prof. Thunyapat Thongyen, Ph.D.,  Department of Environmental Technology and Management, Faculty of Environment; Assoc. Prof. Nopparat Kaakkurivaara, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Research and International Affairs, Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute; Mr. Rattapan Trongwiwat, Head of International Relations and Global Affairs, Faculty of Science; and a Qualified Expert from Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen discussed with Professor John Bell, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia.

 

UniSQ has approximately 27,000 students, with about 10 percent being international students. In 2023, KU and UniSQ signed an MoU, facilitated by Asst. Prof. Sombat Khawprateep, Ph.D., a UniSQ alumnus. Since then, both institutions have engaged in collaborative activities, including the KU & UniSQ Student Exchange 2024 program, jointly organized by the Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen and the Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen.

 

On this occasion, UniSQ expressed a strong commitment to exploring collaboration in the fields of agriculture and engineering. The university also presented information on its 4 flagship research focus areas, which are: 1. Space & Defense (IAESS), 2. Agriculture & Environment (ILSE), 3. Regional Development (IRR), and Health (IRR). Both parties engaged in a discussion on potential areas of cooperation and concluded the meeting with a group photo.
