Executives from Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), China visited KU

On 21 February 2025, at 09:00 a.m., in Meeting Room 9, 2nd Floor, the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narongrit Muangmai, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization; Assoc. Prof. Dr. General Chumpol Piamsomboon, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weeraphart Khunrattanasiri, Dean of the Graduate School; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panu Pimviriyakul, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchasa Pramuanjaroenkij, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Kasetsart University International College (KUIC); and IAD representatives welcomed executives from Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), China, led by ZHANG Bing, Director, Division of International Cooperation; Xu Tianrui, Dean, Graduate School; Zhang Minghu, Deputy Director, General Affairs Management Division, Yunnan Institute for Advanced Studies; Yang Ye, Vice Dean, Faculty of Life Science and Technology; Liu Lingyi, Head, International Student Admissions Office, School of International Education; and Gao Yuan, Head, Information Center, School of International Education.

KUST is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, in the western part of the People’s Republic of China. It was established on September 1, 1954, and offers academic programs through 28 faculties, with over 4,173 staff members and more than 53,539 students (including 1,304 international students). KUST has maintained a long-standing relationship with KU since 1989. Additionally, on April 11, 2024, the executive team from KU, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, visited KUST to further strengthen the ties between the two institutions.

In conclusion of this discussion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narongrit Muangmai proposed reviewing and re-signing the MoU, expanding the scope of collaboration to the university level, and engaging in further discussions on detailed cooperation with the relevant executives and faculty. Furthermore, the KUST executive team invited KU students to participate in a sports event scheduled for late October 2025, with additional details to be provided later.
