TUS is a private university in Uenohara, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan (main campus). It was established in 1990 under the name Nishi Tokyo University of Science, before being renamed Teikyo University of Science (TUS) in April 1996. The university has two campuses: the main Tokyo West campus, surrounded by nature and mountains, focusing on co-existence among wildlife and humans, and the Senju campus, situated near the city center along the banks of the Sumida River. All university buildings are constructed to meet standards that allow them to withstand a certain seismic activity of an earthquake. TUS has almost 5,000 undergraduate students.

Before the signing ceremony, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khongsak Thiangtum suggested that KU and TUS could collaborate on research regarding the relationship between animals and humans in terms of behavior, health, and benefits, given the increasing popularity of pet ownership in Thailand. This topic is also a strength of the Tokyo West campus. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath added that KU and TUS could organize student exchange programs to share knowledge about wildlife. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apisit Songsasen proposed that the scope of collaboration could be expanded to other campuses of KU. Finally, both universities signed the MoU, followed by an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session.
