On Wednesday, September 4,
2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Thira Sutabutra Auditorium, 2nd floor, Golden
Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University,
Bang Khen Campus, Associate Professor Dr. Cheema Soralump, Assistant to the
President for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development, along with faculty
members and staff of Kasetsart University, extended a warm welcome to the
delegation and students from National Pingtung University of Science and
Technology (NPUST), Taiwan. The visiting group included Prof. Hsiu-Ching Lin,
Director of the Physical Education Office; Prof. Chia-Hsiang Chen, Chief and Head
Coach of the Physical Education Office; Mr. Jian-Wei Zheng, Lecturer and Coach
of the Physical Education Office; Mr. Qi-Sheng He, Lecturer and Coach of the
Physical Education Office; and 18 students. The delegation visited Kasetsart
University to participate in a friendly football match between Kasetsart
University and NPUST.
Associate Professor Dr.
Cheema Soralump, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Sustainable
Development, presided over the event and delivered the welcoming remarks. She
provided an overview of Kasetsart University, emphasizing the longstanding
academic collaboration and strong ties between Kasetsart University and NPUST,
dating back to the signing of their academic cooperation agreement in 1998. She
also congratulated NPUST on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. The friendly
football match is part of the efforts to further strengthen the relationship
between the two universities. She also extended an official welcome to
Kasetsart University and Thailand. Following this, Prof. Chia-Hsiang Chen,
Chief and Head Coach of the Physical Education Office, expressed his gratitude
for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the NPUST delegation. He
hoped that the football match would foster goodwill and enhance the sports
skills of students from both institutions.
After the opening
ceremony, the representatives from both sides, including the football team
members from both universities, were introduced. The Kasetsart University
administrators included Professor Dr. Dokrak Marod, Vice President for Research
and Internationalization; Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant
to the President for International Affairs; and Assistant Professor Dr. rer.
soc. Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs.
The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session
with the NPUST delegation.
Following the ceremony,
the NPUST delegation will tour key facilities within Kasetsart University, such
as Intree Chantarasatit Stadium, the Rugby Football Field, the KU Health
Fitness Center, and the Gymnasium. The athletes will then prepare for the
football match, which will take place at 2:30 p.m. Representatives from the
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand will also attend the match. The
friendly football match will begin at 2:30 p.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m.
