KU discussed collaborations with delegates from China Agricultural University (CAU), China

On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at 09:30 a.m., in Meeting Room No. 9, 2nd floor of the Kasetsart Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Prof. Dr. Dokrak Marod, Vice President for Research and Internationalization along with KU administrators and lecturers, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nisa Leksungnoen, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratcha Chaichana, Vice Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Environment; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chouw Inprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Wichchukit, Head of the Department of Food Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen; Mr. Piyajit Pratipasen, Educator from Kasetsart University International College (KUIC); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adichai Pornprommin, Head of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; and IAD representatives welcomed delegates from China Agricultural University (CAU), China, namely Professor DU Taisheng, Vice President; Professor SONG Zhenghe, Dean of College of Engineering; Professor YANG Minli from College of Engineering; Professor LIU Wenfeng, Professor from College of Water Resources and Civil Engineering; and Ms. TAN Lu, Division Head of International Office.

CAU is a public university in Beijing, China, with a history of nearly 120 years (founded in 1905). It offers education across 7 fields: Agriculture, Engineering, Science, Economics, Management, Law, and Literature. The campus spans over 1,258,000 square meters, or approximately 785 rai. CAU places great importance on international collaboration; in 2023 alone, CAU partnered with 264 universities from 54 countries worldwide. Currently, the university has over 2,000 lecturers and around 300 international students.

The delegation from CAU expressed their admiration for KU's extensive collaborations with international universities and expressed strong hopes to expand cooperation with KU further. This could include student exchange programs at undergraduate and graduate levels, study visits for staff, and support for Chinese agricultural machinery products. Additionally, Mr. Piyajit Pratipasen invited CAU to send students to participate in KUIC's short-term programs or Summer School. After the discussions and a group photo session, the CAU delegation visited the Faculty of Engineering to discuss cooperation on water resources research and tour various parts of the campus.
