On Monday, June 10th, 2024, at 2:00 PM, in Meeting Room No. 9, 2nd Floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Assistant Professor Dr. Assistant Professor Dr. rer. soc. Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, was honored to give the welcoming remarks. She was joined by administrators and lecturers, including Associate Professor Dr. Kangsadan Chaowatthanakun, Associate Dean for Research and Social Innovation, Faculty of Social Sciences; Associate Professor Dr. Sowatree Nathalang, Editor-in-Chief of the Kasetsart Journal of Social Sciences; and lecturers from Kasetsart University. They welcomed and discussed academic collaboration between Kasetsart University and IPB University (Institut Pertanian Bogor), with Prof. Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, S. Pt., M. Sc., Director of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation, and 12 academic staff from IPB University, Republic of Indonesia, on the occasion of their official visit to Kasetsart University.

Before commencing discussions on academic cooperation between Kasetsart University and IPB University, both sides exchanged broad information. Prof. Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara explained that IPB University, located in Bogor, Indonesia, is a public agricultural university founded in 1963, 60 kilometers from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The university offers programs in nine faculties and 36 majors at the certificate, undergraduate, and graduate levels. Additionally, IPB University has over 24 research centers focusing on food, energy, the environment, poverty alleviation, and biomedicine.

Prof. Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara expressed interest in academic collaboration with KU to enhance the quantity and quality of research, emphasizing creative research and publications related to social sciences for agriculture and sustainability. At the end of the discussion, KU administrators and lecturers agreed to support IPB University by sharing ideas to enhance the creativity of research and publications through submitting research topics to the KU social science journal, which is indexed in Scopus at the Q3 level. These academic activities aim to promote diplomatic relations between Kasetsart University and IPB University during their visit. Lastly, Assistant Professor Dr. Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, presented a souvenir to Prof. Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, S. Pt., M. Sc., and a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.
