Dr. Patiphol Yodsurang, Faculty of Architecture; Asst.

Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering; Asst. Prof. Dr. Paitoon Chetthamrongchai, Department of Marketing, Faculty of
Business Administration; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weekit Sirisaksoontorn, Vice Dean for
Organizational Strategic Planning, Faculty of Science; and
representatives of the International Affairs Division welcomed administrators
from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool
University (XJTLU), China, namely Professor
Youmin Xi, Executive President; Professor Mortiz Bilagher,
Professor in Global Citizenship Education; and Xiaoqiong
Li(Helen), International Development
Manager, XJTLU Global Office on the occasion of visit to
Kasetsart University.
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), established in May, 2006 as an international
joint venture between Xi’an Jiaotong University, China and
University of Liverpool (UoL), United
Kingdom, is located in Suzhou, Jiangsu, on the east coast of China. XJTLU comprises various academies, centers, and colleges,
offering a wide range of degree programs in fields such as film and TV arts,
industrial technology, humanities and social sciences, and multiple branches of
science. Undergraduate students at XJTLU receive dual
degrees upon graduation: one from Xi’an
Jiaotong University, China and another from University of Liverpool, United
Kingdom.
At
the beginning of the discussion, KU and XJTLU participants exchanged broad
overviews of their respective institutions, including details about each campus
and various departments. Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat praised XJTLU for its
successful blend of Eastern and Western educational elements and its strong
commitment to developing students into global citizens. Both parties agreed to
initiate collaboration through a staff exchange program, providing KU lecturers
and faculty members with opportunities to observe XJTLU's operational processes
and discuss potential joint research programs within 2024, followed by student
exchange programs and short-term internships in the future. At the end of the
discussion, Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat presented a token of appreciation to
Professor Youmin Xi, followed by a group photo of all participants to
commemorate the occasion.
