On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 1.00 p.m., in Meeting Room No. 9, on the 2nd Floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus. Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University was honored to be the chairman of the welcoming remarks for the academic meeting between Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University and Kasetsart University (KU), along with administrators and lecturers, namely Assistant Professor Dr. Nuchanata Mungkung, Vice President for Finance and Asset Management; Assistant Professor Dr. Seri Koonjaenak, DVM., Vice President for Sriracha Campus; Associate Professor Dr. Buncha Chinnasri, Assistant to the President for Quality Development; Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. rer. soc. Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assistant Professor Dr. Tanapon Chaisan, Assistant to the President for Research and Creation; Assistant Professor Dr. Pakaket Wattuya, Assistant to the President for Future Design; Associate Professor Dr. Weeraphart Khunrattanasiri, Dean of the Graduate School; Assistant Professor Dr. Kobsak Wanthongchai, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry; paricipated in the MOU signing ceremony and discussed academic collaboration between Kasetsart University and Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University led by Prof. Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University along with the delegation namely Prof. Ernan Rustiadi, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation; Prof. Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, S. Pt., M. Sc., Director of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation; Dr. Ava Anggraini, Director of Global Connectivity; and Dr. Alfian Helmi, Deputy Director of Strategic Studies from IPB University, the Republic of Indonesia on the occasion of attending the official MOU signing ceremony between Kasetsart University and IPB University.

Before commencing the discussions on academic collaboration, both parties exchanged broad overviews. Prof. Arif Satria mentioned that on Monday, June 10, 2024, IPB University had an academic meeting with Kasetsart University to discuss collaborative research and publications related to social sciences for agriculture and sustainability. Kasetsart University and IPB University have been academic partners since signing their first MOU in 2013. Additionally, both universities are members of several international networks such as the University Consortium – Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (UC SEARCA), University Network for Tropical Agriculture (UNTA), and the Food & Fertilizer Technology Center (FFTC).

Prof. Arif Satria expressed interest in furthering academic collaboration with Kasetsart University through joint activities under the renewed MOU. Areas of focus include promoting research in agriculture, agri-industry, medical science, forestry, environment, and social sciences, as well as supporting the development of joint degree programs at the graduate level to enhance both the quantity and quality of collaborative research.

Towards the end of the discussion, Kasetsart University's administrators and faculty members expressed their intention to support IPB University in joint academic activities, research projects, and joint degree programs, thereby strengthening the partnership between the two institutions. Finally, Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat presented a commemorative gift to Prof. Arif Satria, and a group photo was taken to mark the occasion.
