Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs;
Asst. Prof. Dr. Korakit Choomgrant, Deputy Dean for International Affairs and
Educational Development, Faculty of Social Sciences; Asst. Prof. Dr. Udomluk
Koolsriroj, Deputy Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Education; and
representatives of the International Affairs Division, welcomed Mr. Morteza
Soltani, Political and Cultural Expert of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic
of Iran in Thailand on the occasion of visit to Kasetsart University.

Mr. Morteza Soltani
wishes to discuss the possibility of collaboration between the Embassy of the
Islamic Republic of Iran and Kasetsart University, focusing on academic and
cultural aspects. Mr. Morteza Soltani has proposed the following cooperation
framework:
1. A lecture on Iran's socio-political
development after the 1979 Islamic Revolution by the
Embassy's political expert.
2. Signing MoUs between Iranian
universities and Kasetsart University.
3. Offering scholarships to KU
students.
4. Arranging a cultural session on
Iran, including its tourist attractions.
5. Screening Iranian movies (dubbed or
with Thai subtitles).
6. Performing live Iranian music.
7. Holding Iranology workshops,
handicrafts, books, and photo exhibitions.
8. Holding short-term Persian language
courses.
9. Arranging joint webinars between
Iranian universities and Kasetsart University.
10. Facilitating other collaboration
between Iranian universities and Kasetsart University.

KU administrators and
lecturers proposed avenues for collaboration, including extending an invitation
to Mr. Morteza Soltani to speak on “The History of Iran” at the Faculty of
Social Sciences, KU, student and staff exchange programs, and scholarships for
postgraduate studies for KU lecturers. Mr. Morteza Soltani has embraced these
proposed collaborative efforts, aiming to enhance Thailand's understanding of
the Islamic Republic of Iran and mitigate any biases that may arise from
portrayals of Iranians in social media. Following the discussion, Assoc. Prof.
Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, presented souvenirs to Mr. Morteza Soltani. Finally, all
participants participated in a group photo session, serving as a reminder of
the fruitful exchange and shared goals.
