Sustainability discussion between KU and a representative from the University of Passau (UP), Germany

On 11 March 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in the IAD Meeting Room, 10th Floor, the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Asst. Prof. Dr.rer.Soc Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs along with KU administrators and lecturers, namely Assistant Professor Dr. Korakit Choomgrant, Deputy Dean for International Affairs and Educational Development, Faculty of Social Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchasa Pramuanjaroenkij, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Kasetsart University International College (KUIC); Mr. Somchoke Ruengittinun, Head of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science; and IAD representatives welcomed Prof. Dr. Werner Gamerith, Vice President for  Transfer and Sustainability, University of Passau, Germany.

The University of Passau is a medium-sized university with campuses in Munich, Germany; Prague, Czech Republic; and Vienna, Austria, and has approximately 11,000 students. The purpose of this visit to KU was to discuss sustainability and sustainable development, including the exchange of sustainability experts, as KU has received high rankings in sustainability assessments by UI GreenMetric. Additionally, discussions focused on potential collaboration between KU and the University of Passau, particularly in the fields of geography and social sciences.

Prof. Dr. Werner Gamerith stated that sustainability is not only a crucial issue for college students but also for the general public. Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr.rer.Soc Supapatpimol Simlee expressed great appreciation for UP's commitment to sustainability. She noted that UP could initiate collaboration with KU at either the faculty or university level and could coordinate through faculty coordinators or Kasetsart University International College (KUIC).
