The International Affairs
Division, Kasetsart University has been working to develop the
internationalization of Kasetsart University continuously in a variety of
projects, activities for students to develop and play a role in driving the
internationalization of the university. In another way, the KU Student
Ambassador Program is organized annually by training KU Student Ambassadors to
be trusted position to work with the International Affairs Division, promoting
the use of language skills, building understanding in diversity and cultural
differences, having creativity, confidence and assertiveness, as well as the
ability to work as a team to support the internationalization of Kasetsart
University both in the country and abroad to be recognized. KU Student
Ambassadors who have completed the training will proudly work with
International Relations Division personnel to promote a good image of Kasetsart
University.

The KU Student Ambassador program
helps create qualified graduates who will participate in driving the university
internationally, also the students who graduated will be an important force for
the nation and will be good quality alumni of Kasetsart University. Last 2
years of COVID-19 causing the program to be changed to an online format, but
due to the realization of the mission of being part of the development of
student quality with various faculties, the International Affairs Division
therefore still organizes KU Student Ambassador - KUSAm #5 Training and
Workshop Program 2023 continuously.

This year, the International
Affairs Division has scheduled to organize KU Student Ambassador - KUSAm #5 Training
and Workshop Program 2023 from Monday 22 - Friday 26 May 2023 from 8:30 a.m. -
4:30 p.m., at Room 510 of the Computer Services Office Building located at
Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus by strictly adhering to disease prevention
measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the number of students who have
participated and passed KUSAm #5 Training and Workshop Program 2023 are as
follows: Bang Khen Campus 20 students, Suphan Buri Campus
3 students, Kamphaeng Saen Campus 3 students, Sriracha Campus 9 students and Chalermphrakiat
Sakon Nakhon Province Campus 14 students, totaling 49 students.
At the same time, there are 3 professors, namely Assistant Professor Dr. Prajya
Ngamjan, Faculty of Arts and Management, Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon
Province Campus, Assistant Professor Dr. Nitikorn Phoosuwan, Faculty of Public
Health, Chalermphrakiat
Sakon Nakhon Province Campus, and Dr. Chanya Inprasit, Suphan Buri
Campus Establishment Project Campus, along with 3 personnel from Kasetsart
University Kamphaeng Saen Campus, including Ms. Nattharinee Phoobuaphet, Mr. Wiroon
Jirakorn, and Ms. Kotchakorn Kommungkul, also attended and observed throughout
the training period.

KUSAm #5 Training and Workshop
Program 2023 aims to develop international potential for Kasetsart University
students to be ready to represent the university in participating in
international activities as well as being a cultural ambassador to propagate
the good image of Kasetsart University to the international> the training
and workshop program has invited well-qualified and experienced speakers to
give lectures to the students. All students will participate in Active Learning
activities on each topic and the last day of the training will be a
presentation to summarize and receive evaluation from a keynote speaker. In
addition, the International Affairs Division had organized 2 field trips to
promote directly learning and experiences outside the classroom, learning to
broaden their perspectives and gain experience and knowledge from knowledgeable
people and real places. This year is a good opportunity for students to attend
a study visit at the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific
(UN/ESCAP).

On 22 May 2023 at 8:30 a.m. Miss
Araya Bijabhala, Director of the International Affairs Division honored to
deliver a report at the opening ceremony of the training program. After that,
Associate
Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs
honored to preside over to deliver an opening remark. The morning session
started with an activity “Nice to Meet you & Let's Break the Ice” by
lecturer Dr. Narudol Semchuchot, Faculty of Education along with KUSAm staff
from Batch 3 and 4 as coordinators, consisting of Ms. Fapatan Audtum, Ms. Pitcha
Sribua, Ms. Thachakorn Srisomwong, Ms. Khwanchanok Tong-ngew, Ms. Wilailak
Sukkham, Mr. Taschaphol Laosansook, and Mr. Mahyuddin Billateah. In the
afternoon from 13.30 – 16.30 was a special lecture and activities-based learning
on the topic “Personality of International Student Volunteers” by Ms. Pimlada
Lerdsiravatch, speaker and invited lecturer at Bangkok University.

On 23 May 2023, from 8:30 a.m. -
4:30 p.m. KUSAm #5 participated in a special lecture and activities - based learning
on the topic of “Campus Tours in styles of KU Student Ambassador” by Assistant
Professor Piwat Hitakorn, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University by
bringing KU Student Ambassador batch 5 hopped on KU electric trams to visit KU
Landmarks and conduct a Campus Tour. They had visited various important places
of KU, such as the Main Library, the History Hall, the Main Auditorium, and pay
respects to the Sam Buraphachan Monument of KU. It's the best way to get to
know the university properly and know how to lead a campus tour as an KU
Student Ambassador, then resumed to classroom activity on the correct use of
English to welcome visitors to the university. Subsequently, in the afternoon
from 13.30 – 16.30 p.m., it was another special lecture and activities-based learning
on the topic of “Public Speaking” by Dr. Wannana Soontronnaruarangsri, a former
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and specialist in Language and
Communication, Faculty of Humanities.

On 24 May 2023 from 8:30 a.m. -
4:30 p.m. KUSAm #5 participated in a special lecture and activities - based
learning on the topic of “Building Confidence in Communicating in English” by lecturer
Dr. Narudol Semchuchot, Faculty of Education and an additional lecture on the
topic of “Public Speaking” by Dr. Wannana Soontronnaruarangsri. Subsequently,
in the afternoon from 13.30 – 16.30 p.m., it was lecture and activities-based
learning on the topic of “Communication of KU Student Ambassador’s Identity
through Social Media” by a special lecturer, Ajarn Surachai Alex Suantubtim from
Dhurakij Pundit University.

On 25 May 2023 at 7:30 a.m., the
International Affairs Division organized two field trips to promote learning
and experiences outside the classroom. This year, KUSAm #5 joined a study visit
to two famous international organizations. Started from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon,
KUSAm #5 visited and had a study tour at the Department of Information,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs which was honored by Mr. Thanawat Sirikul, Deputy
Director-General, Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
presided over and gave a lecture on the roles of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and operational guidelines of the Department of Information to the students
including other topics on building understanding on 5S/5 foreign affairs, operations
of public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy, support of public diplomacy by
embassies and consulates-general, and various public relations channels of the
ministry. The students are also interested in other important issues such as
helping Thai people in Sudan, Thailand's image in the eyes of foreign countries
after the election, and etc. Kasetsart University students also participated in
brainstorming activities on how to promote foreign policy and Thai culture through
various channels, including visiting Saranrom Radio Station to learn the
history of the station and try to practice making public relations clips

After that, from 13.30 – 17.00, KUSAm
#5 made a study visit at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for
Asia and the Pacific (UN/ESCAP) and attending a briefing programme by UN/ESCAP
Communications and Knowledge Management Section on the various subjects as
follows: Presentation on SDG Outlook in Asia and the Pacific by Sara
Zanetti/Christian Mortelliti, Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable on Sustainable
Development team; Briefing on Career Opportunities at ESCAP by Milica Markovic,
Human Resources Officer Process; Briefing on Translated and interpreted by Fan Wang,
ESCAP's Language Services; and concluded with a visit to the UN Conference
Centre. These study visits had very much impressed everyone and broaden views, attitudes, and connection activities
among friends to inspire and stimulate eagerness to learn and develop one's
potential to meet the desirable qualities of an international organization, and
also directly learn about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the UN.

On May 26 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m., which was the last day of KU Student Ambassador - KUSAm #5 Training
and Workshop Program 2023. It was a final group activity including of student
work presentation and summary & evaluation by lecturer Dr. Narudol
Semchuchot, Faculty of Education. The final project was the video
presentation of all KUSAm #5 to present how to create stories about Kasetsart
University in a new perspective and make foreign friends fall in love with
Kasetsart University by creating a Clip Video Contest in English, no longer
than 2 minutes each groups of 7 -8 students, and finally with the selection of
the President of KUSAm #5 and the Vice President from each campuses to
represent and work in coordination between the International Affairs Division
and all KUSAm #5. The President of KUSAm #5 is Mr. Surathin Srichok, Faculty of
Veterinary Medicine, and the Vice President of KUSAm #5 are Ms. Natjariya
Changsuwan, Faculty of Management Sciences at Sriracha Campus; Mr. Jirayus
Chaimongkol, Faculty of Education and Development Sciences at Kamphaeng
Saen Campus; Ms. Niney Dowloy, Hotel and Tourism Management at Suphan Buri
Campus; and Ms. Chanakarn Boonkon, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Management
Science at Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus.

Then at 16.00 – 17.00 was the
closing ceremony and awarding of certificates and KUSAm jackets by Associate
Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs once
again honored to preside over the closing ceremony and expressed his appreciation
for the willingness of all students to participate in the KU Student Ambassador
- KUSAm #5 Training and Workshop Program 2023 over the past 5 days. Every
student came with full hope to apply the knowledge and experience gained to
study, work and create a global citizenship attitude and participating in the
KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program or KUSAm will help students
develop their potential and personality to become more international and to be
graduates with quality comparable with other countries. Everyone is the power
to drive Kasetsart University to become more international.

The KU Student Ambassador - KUSAm
#5 Training and Workshop Program 2023 has ended beautifully and impressively.
There were 49 students participating from all campuses and
various faculties of Kasetsart University such as the Faculty of Veterinary
Technology, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty
of Engineering, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social
Sciences, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Business
Administration, Faculty of Arts and Management Sciences, Faculty of Hotel and
Tourism Management, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Education and
Development Science, etc. It is very proud that Kasetsart University will have KU
Student Ambassador or KUSAm #5, who have knowledge and ability to represent the
university and to participate in many International activities in the future.
