KU discussed with representatives from Milton Friedman University (MFU), Hungary

On Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, at 03.30 p.m., Meeting Room No.10, 10th floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs along with administrators and lecturers, namely Assistant Professor Dr. Wg.Cdr. Ngamlamai Piolueang, Dean of Faculty of Social Science; Assistant Professor Dr. Korakit Choomgrant Vice Dean for International Affairs and Educational Quality Development, Faculty of Social Science; Assistant Professor Dr. Thanasin Tanompongphandh, Vice Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Economics; and representatives of the International Affairs Division, welcomed representatives from Milton Friedman University (MFU), Hungary, namely Dr. Sandor Sipos, Ambassador of Hungary to Thailand, and Dr. György NESZMELYI, core member of the Milton Friedman Doctoral School of Economics and Management Sciences (MFGSZDI) and chairman of the University, and engaged in discussions regarding the potential foundation for future cooperation, with a focus on international relations on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University.

Before the discussion, both universities exchanged brief information about themselves. MFU was founded in 2000 with the initial name, King Sigismund College, before it was changed to MFU in August 2018. The university started with three initial departments, namely International Relations, Human Resources Management, and Cultural Organization/Communication Management. At that time, MFU introduced multi-level training in international studies as well as advanced vocational training. Nowadays, MFU consists of 6 departments: Economic and Management Studies, Communication and Cultural Studies, Informatics, Finance, Accounting and Business Mathematics, and International and Political Studies.

Later, MFU offered a general scheme of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to KU and began discussing essential contents such as the student exchange program, co-research program, researchers and academic staff exchange program, seminars, etc. MFU suggested arranging an online meeting after February 2024 to discuss further details of the MoU. Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs, planned to invite the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Economics, KU to give a lecture at MFU in May 2024. At the end of the discussion, Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar and Assistant Professor Dr. Wg.Cdr. Ngamlamai Piolueang presented souvenirs to MFU and took a group photo.
