of the International Affairs Division welcomed the official visit to Kasetsart
University of the delegation from Saga University, Japan namely Professor
Nobuo Mishima, Vice President for International, Faculty of Science and
Engineering; Ms. Hiromi Yada, Head, Office for International Planning; Ms. Risa
Okubo, Clerk, Office for International Planning; Ms. Kanako Otsubo,
Coordinator, Center for Promotion of International Exchange; and Ms. Hikari
Narumi, Coordinator, Center for Promotion of International Exchange.
On this occasion, Associate
Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs welcomed
and provided broad information about Kasetsart University and mentioned that
Kasetsart University is a large public university consisting of 4 campuses and
the project to establish a Suphanburi campus, the new establishment of the Faculty
of Medicine and the Faculty of Nursing. Kasetsart University has cooperation
with many Japanese universities especially many more academic activities with
Saga University, which has long-standing academic cooperation and looking
forward to more programs and activities in various fields in the future. SU and
KU have had a long good relationship since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding
in 1996, the renewal of the MOU in 2020, and the visit of Saga University by KU
administrators last year. KU hopes that on this occasion of visiting Kasetsart
University, both sides can discuss and further develop on the framework for
cooperation in projects and exchange activities with a fruitful outcomes.
Both sides discussed the
possibility of carrying out joint academic activities. In this regard, Professor
Nobuo Mishima, Vice President for International informed his intention to meet
with Kasetsart University administrators to discuss the following issues: 1. To
discuss the Strategic Partnership Project to strengthen sustainable relationships
through agreements with Thai universities and Kasetsart University. 2. To
discuss cooperation, especially in the exchange program for students, faculty members,
and researchers with various faculties and departments of Kasetsart University
3. To provide information on the support in various aspects of the Strategic
Partnership Project, SU and 4. To provide information on the Framework of
Exchange Programs at Saga University for Undergraduate and Graduate School. In
today's meeting, KU has invited Deputy Deans and faculty members from related
faculties to meet and discuss cooperation and additional opportunities in
activities and courses of common interest, such as the Faculty of Architecture,
Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Social Sciences and
will be presented to other faculties or fields in the future.
The meeting exchanged the above
information and sought opportunities for cooperation on various issues related
to the Exchange Program and Joint Project between Saga University and Kasetsart
University for students, faculty members, and researchers, such as organizing International
Workshop, International Symposium, Exchange Students, Joint Research, Internships,
lectures on various subjects in the social sciences, Summer
Courses, etc. In summary, both sides were satisfied with today's meeting and can
develop further into academic cooperation between each other.
Saga
University is a Japanese national university headquartered in Saga City, Saga
Prefecture, Japan founded in 1920 and established as a
university in 1949, it has six faculties. Faculties:
Education, Art and Regional Design, Economics, Medicine, Science and
Engineering, Agriculture.
