On 21 November 2023 at 1.30 p.m.
in meeting room 9, on the 2nd floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and
Information Center Building at Kasetsart University, Associate Professor Dr.
Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs along with
Associate Professor Dr. Tanapon Chaisan, Assistant to the President for
Research and Creation; Associate Professor Dr. Janejira Duangjit, Assistant
Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture; Miss Prattana
Thirakiettikun, Head of the International Collaboration and Networking Section;
and personnel of the International Affairs Division welcomed the official visit
to Kasetsart University of Professor Fan Yuanhong, Vice President, Yunnan Agricultural
University, China and the group include Dr. Pu Wenlong, Director of College of
Continuing Education; Dr. Zhu Yaoshun, Director of International Cooperation
and Exchange Department; Professor Liang Yanli, College of Agronomy and
Biotechnology; Dr. Li Xuejun, Vice Dean, College of Tropical Crops and Dr. Qu
Peng, lecturer, Department Head of College of Tropical Crops.
On this occasion, Associate
Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs
welcomed the delegation and is pleased to support the opportunity for
cooperation in education between the two universities. Then, the Vice President
for International Affairs Kasetsart University led a video presentation
introducing the university and mentioned that it is an honor and pleasure for
Kasetsart University and Yunnan Agricultural University, China will collaborate
in related academic and research activities. In today's meeting, are
Kasetsart’s Vice Presidents, Assistant to the President, and representatives
from related departments who are invited to meet and discuss further
cooperation and opportunities in areas of common interest, especially between
the Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University and Yunnan Agricultural
University, China.
Then Professor Fan Yuanhong, Vice
President of Yunnan Agricultural University, China, expressed his gratitude and
presented general information about the university and mentioned that the
purpose of the visit to Kasetsart University is to develop academic cooperation
with Kasetsart University, such as potential joint research between each other
in the agricultural field and exchange of researchers from both sides. Further,
with the intention of preparing the MOU Establishment of the Sino-Thai Joint
Laboratory of Special Fruits and Vegetables in Pantropical regions between the
two institutions. Earlier, the Vice President for Research and Creative Affairs
of Kasetsart University was a representative of Kasetsart University to sign
the Memorandum of Understanding on the occasion of the visit to Yunnan
Agricultural University on June 27, 2023, which is a new MoU after the
Agreement on the Inter-Institution Cooperation expired in 1990.
After that, the meeting discussed
the possibility of projects and academic cooperation activities between the two
institutions, such as the exchange of students in both Non degree and Degree and
the exchange of faculty staff between each other, cooperation in the field of
Scientific Research Projects, short courses such as summer camps, promoting
cooperation under the MOU in the national sector level, university sector level,
industrial sector level and the private sector level, etc. This is such an
opportunity to build cooperation between Yunnan Agricultural University, China
and the Faculty of Agriculture and sees an opportunity to expand academic
cooperation between the two universities to cover a wider range of subjects and
activities in the future. Both sides were satisfied with today's meeting and
were able to develop further academic cooperation between them.
Yunnan Agricultural University is
a public university located in Panlong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province,
China. Founded in 2010 1938, it first began using the name Agricultural College
of National Yunnan University. Today, it has approximately 34,000 students,
including more than 200 international students, and approximately 1,884 faculty
members. Yunnan Agricultural University has cooperation with more than 100
overseas universities and colleges from 23 countries, such as: Such as the
United Kingdom, United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea, France, Belgium,
Netherlands, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar,
and Slovenia, etc.
