KU welcomed and discussed with a delegation from University of Victoria (UVic), Division of Continuing Studies, Canada

On 9 November 2023 at 13.30 p.m., in the IAD meeting room, 10th floor, the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs along with Assistant Professor Dr. Wandee Kasemsukpipat, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Education; Miss Prattana Thirakiettikun, Head of the International Collaboration and Networking Section; and personnel of the International Affairs Division welcomed the official visit to Kasetsart University of Ms. Rena Fowler, International Recruitment Coordinator, University of Victoria, Division of Continuing Studies, Canada.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs welcomed the delegation and is pleased to support the opportunity for cooperation in education between the two universities and mentioned that it is an honor and pleasure for Kasetsart University and University of Victoria, Division of Continuing Studies, Canada will collaborate in related academic activities, especially between the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University and the Division of Continuing Studies of the University of Victoria, Canada. In today's meeting, was the Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Education as a representative to meet and discuss further cooperation and opportunities in areas of common interest.

After that, Ms. Rena Fowler, International Recruitment Coordinator, University of Victoria, Division of Continuing Studies, Canada expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome, then introduced general information about the University of Victoria; and mentioned the purpose of the visit to Kasetsart University, which is to develop academic cooperation with Kasetsart University such as discussing and identifying the opportunities for the English language and professional development training by presenting general information of the Division of Continuing Studies and various programs for students who are interested in English language training as well as faculty or staff who are interested in the professional development training, Pre service teacher program in hybrid format (online and onsite for 4 weeks), customized program for KU prospective students, Master’s and PhD. Program in English writing for publication etc.

In summary, the meeting exchanged information as mentioned above. This is such an opportunity to build cooperation between the Division of Continuing Studies of the University of Victoria, Canada and the Faculty of Education at KU and sees many opportunities to expand academic cooperation to cover a wider range of fields of study and activities in the future including submitting the proposal of the program and timeline to follow the progress. Both sides are pleased with today’s meeting and can further develop academic cooperation between them soon.
