On 16 June 2023 at noon, in meeting room 10, 10th floor, the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs honored to preside over and deliver the welcome remarks along with the administrators consisting of Associate Professor Dr. Buncha Chinnasri, Assistant to the President for Quality Development and Deputy Director of Kasetsart University International College (KUIC); Dr. Suvaporn Phasuk, Assistant to the President for Finance and Asset Management; Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Dr. Nipat Limsangouan, Deputy Director of Administration and Organization Development, Institute of Food Research and Product Development; Miss Prattana Thirakiettikun, Head of the International Collaboration and Networking Section; and personnel of the International Affairs Division welcomed the official visit to Kasetsart University by the delegation from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), the Republic of the Philippines led by Associate Professor Dr. Jennifer Marie S. Amparo, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Director of Business Affairs (BAO) and 17 professors and delegates from UPLB namely  Rolando T. On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs welcomed the delegations on their official visits and is pleased to support the opportunity for cooperation in education between Kasetsart University and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Philippines. Then, the Vice President for International Affairs Kasetsart University led a video presentation introducing the university and mentioned that far into the future Kasetsart University and University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) will continue to participate collaboratively in academic activities and research related to our area of shared expertise. In the meeting today are Kasetsart’s Vice Presidents, Assistant to the President and representatives from related departments who are invited to meet and discuss with UPLB about further collaboration and opportunities in the interested fields.

Then, Associate Professor Dr. Jennifer Marie S. Amparo, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Director of Business Affairs (BAO) expressed her gratitude and mentioned the purpose of the University of the Philippines Los Baños visit to Kasetsart University (UPLB) Republic of the Philippines. The objectives of the visit to Kasetsart University by the administrators of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Republic of the Philippines are as follows: to Benchmarking with KU, as well as to make a courtesy call on the President of Kasetsart University and the administrators, and to learn KU's vision of becoming a university of entrepreneurs and share visions or initiatives of entrepreneurial universities among each other.

In this regard, the entire delegation from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Philippines has traveled to Thailand to attend the ProPak Asia 2023 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Bangkok, Thailand from 14 – 17 June 2023. The representatives from various UPLB offices such as the Business Affairs Office (BAO), College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT), Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO), Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE), and UPLB Finance Team will be present in the aforementioned trade event. Therefore, the team is led by Dr. Jennifer Marie S. Amparo, Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Director of the UPLB Business Affairs Office would like to take this opportunity to visit Kasetsart University to learn more about the best practices in the following University activities and initiatives:

- Management and scaling–up of income-generating projects such as, but not limited to the KU Book Center, KU Coop Store, KU Press, the Premium@KU, the Office of Innovation and Social Engagement, etc.

- Research and development at the Kasetsart Agricultural and Agro-Industrial Product Improvement Institute (KAPI);

- Conduct of fabrication services; and facilitation of technology transfer and the KU Business Incubator Center.

Specifically, UPLB would like to benchmark with KU in the technical, marketing, and financial governance aspects of the entrepreneurial initiatives and how to ensure innovation diffusion with academe-public-private partnerships. As partner’s university, UPLB looks forward to learning from KU to ensure the effective use of the resources in contributing to socioeconomic development, competitiveness, and cooperation in the Asia Pacific region.

In summary, the meeting exchanged the above information with Kasetsart University administrators including provided information on KU Entrepreneurship projects such as KUniverse Co., Ltd and KU We Green Co., Ltd, the businesses have set up to support KU research works as marketing channels to bring KU products into the business sector. The delegations from University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Republic of the Philippines interested and asked many more information from Dr. Suvaporn Phasuk, Assistant to the President for Finance and Asset Management. Both sides are pleased with today’s meeting and can further develop into academic cooperation between them shortly. After that, the delegation visited the Premium@KU, and the Office of Innovation and Social Engagement of Kasetsart University.

University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Republic of the Philippines, is the National University of the Philippines, Los Baños was established in 1909. It is the largest university in the Philippines with approximately 91,000 acres covering agricultural areas, forests, mountains, and water sources in line with learning teaching, and research. Currently offering courses in Agriculture, Art and Sciences, Development Communication, Economics and Management, Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology, Environmental Science and Management, Forestry and Natural Resources, Human Ecology, Public Affairs and Development, and Veterinary Medicine. There are more than 1,000 Thai people who have graduated from UPLB from the past to the present, working in various agencies across the country.
