Bangkhen Campus, Associate Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for
International Affairs presided over to deliver the welcoming remarks, along
with administrators and faculty members, consisting of Associate Professor Dr.
Wanwipa Vongsangnak, Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of
Kasetsart University International College (KUIC); Associate Professor Dr. Napasri
Timyam, Deputy Dean for International Relations Administration, Faculty of
Humanities; Mrs. Achiraya Nunes Galante, International Relations Officer
Professional Level, Scholarships and Cooperation Supervisor Kasetsart
University International College (KUIC), Ms. Wanida Kammani, Foreign Relations
Officer, Faculty of Economics; Miss Prattana Thirakiettikun, Head of the
International Collaboration and Networking Section; and personnel of the
International Affairs Division welcomed a delegation from Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia (UKM), led by Ms. Nur Nazatul Huda Binti Ruhizar, Program Director,
Institute of the Malay World & Civilization, together with Mr. Harfiz Rasul
Bin Mohamad, Advisor, International Relations Centre; Ms. Aiyani Zulaikha. Mohd
Zakaria, Committee, Faculty of Economics; Mr. Adeesak Sukcharean A/L Kim Chee,
Committee, Faculty of Science & Technology; Ms. Reshigaashiny A/PA
Baskaran, Committee, Faculty of Education; Mr. Muhammad Salman Bin Mohd

occasion of their official visit to Kasetsart University.
Associate
Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs
welcomed and was delighted to support the opportunity to build an educational
partnership between Kasetsart University and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
(UKM). On this occasion, Ms. Nur Nazatul Huda Binti Ruhizar, Program Director,
Institute of the Malay World & Civilization informed the objectives of the
visit, the background of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and provided
an introduction to UKM Global Buddies (UKMbassadors). UKMbassadors
is a short mobility program that has the main purpose to bring together
students of different nationalities, languages, and cultures from all corners
of the world to learn the same knowledge together. UKMbassadors or a student
club at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) supports and assists international
students studying at the university. The club aims to help international
students adapt to the new environment and culture in Malaysia and promote
cross-cultural understanding and friendship between international and local
students. By working with UKM Global, the office of the International Relations
Centre in UKM, along with its officers, UKMbassadors organizes various programs
and events throughout the semester, including social activities, cultural
trips, and academic workshops, to enhance the international student experience
at UKM. The club also operates a buddy program, where a member is assigned to
assist and guide one or more international students throughout the semester.
With a commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for all
students, UKMbassadors play an important role in enhancing the university’s
internationalization efforts and promoting a global mindset among its members.
Finally,
the meeting discussed various issues that share common interests, such as
promoting student exchanges between each other both in the form of
International Programs and Short Term Exchange Programs, Summer Programs which
are available to international students and likely to attract students from
both universities who are interested can come to study or learn to exchange
cultures between each other, including KU One Semester Scholarship Program
for International Student (KUOSSPIs), Student Exchange Program of Faculty of
Humanities and Faculty of Economics, and other similar program such
as KU Student Ambassador (KUSAm). The two sides were satisfied with today's
meeting and could develop into technical cooperation shortly.
Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is a Malaysian public university established on May
18, 1970, initially operating at Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur. It then moved
to its current location in Bandar Baru Bangi, in southeastern Selangor,
Malaysia. UKM also has a medical campus in Kuala Lumpur which is the location
of the Faculty of Medicine (Preclinical), Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty
of Dentistry, and Faculty of Pharmacy. There are 17,500 undergraduate students
enrolled, and 5,105 postgraduate students of which 1,368 are foreign students
from 35 countries.
