Exchange of Knowledge and Practices with IPB University in Quality Management, Risk Management, and Occupational Health and Safety

           On Friday, October 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., Meeting Room 10, 10th floor, Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus, Dr. Damrong Sripraram, Vice President for Administration and Carbon Neutrality, Associate Professor Dr. Aphichart Rodchanarowan, Assistant to the President for Quality Development and Database Systems, and Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad, Assistant to the President for International Affairs welcomed the delegation of IPB University, Indonesia, led by Professor Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito, Institute Secretary on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University. The visit aimed at the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the areas of Quality Management, Risk Management, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

 

            After the brief introduction of Kasetsart University, Vice President Damrong Sripraram delivered a welcome address to all delegates of IPB University and mentioned about the recent activities between IPB University and Kasetsart University. Following this, Professor Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito expressed his appreciation to Kasetsart University for hospitality and opportunity to strengthen institutional frameworks by sharing insights and methodologies for maintaining high standards in operational excellence, ensuring risk mitigation, and promoting a safe and healthy environment for all stakeholders.

 

            During the discussion, Associate Professor Dr. Aphichart Rodchanarowan gave a brief overview of quality management system, quality assessment, and risk management of Kasetsart University and Thai higher education institutions.  Besides, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad talked about new activities under the framework of the MOU recently renewed in June this year, especially the Co-Research Project Collaboration between IPB and KU Grant Project, that she had involved to foster and strengthen research collaborations.

 

            IPB University or Institut Pertanian Bogor is the first and the largest agricultural university in Indonesia. It was established on September 1, 1963 and formerly known as Bogor Agricultural University. IPB University ranked #51 in the QS World University Ranking by Subject Agriculture and Forestry, making IPB University the best agricultural university in Indonesia. IPB University has also placed #426 in the QS World University Ranking. IPB’s value of “Inspiring Innovation with Integrity” indicates the readiness of the university to face a disruptive and fast-changing era by advancing science and technology through research and innovation. Along with this motto, IPB has developed the concept of Agro-maritime 4.0, a platform that provides direction to enhance the role of the university to provide solutions for national and global issues, particularly problems related to food security, poverty, environment, climate change, and infectious disease. IPB has produced many innovations, among others, 107 superior varieties, Rice Field 4.0, Smart Integrated Pest Management, etc. Many of them have been commercialized and widely applied in communities. The development of research and innovation under the Agro-maritime 4.0 framework is part of milestones to achieve IPB long-term vision to become a “socio-technopreneur university.” IPB aims at enhancing local and global connectivity, therefore it has been actively engaging in many collaborations with different institutions both in the country and overseas. With the support of highly qualified and dedicated staffs, highly motivated students, and strong leaderships, IPB University will continue to play its substantial roles in the development to create more impacts to the society nationally and globally.
