KU welcomed an administrator from University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), United States of America

On Thursday, March 7th, 2024, at 02.00 p.m., IAD Meeting Room, 10th floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs, along with administrators and lecturers, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chamaipak Maiklad; Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr.rer.Soc Supapatpimol Simlee, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Korakit Choomgrant; and representatives of the International Affairs Division, welcomed and discussed academic collaboration with an administrator from University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), United States of America, namely Mr. Andrew Hill, Assistant Regional Director, Asia Pacific Office of Global Affairs on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University.

Before the academic discussion, both universities exchanged a brief overview of their respective institutions. Mr. Andrew Hill explained that UCO, founded in B.E. 1890, is a public university located in Edmond, Oklahoma, which is ranked as one of the 10 safest cities in the heart of the United States. Moreover, UCO is recognized as one of the Tier One institutions among regional universities in the West region of the United States (ranked by U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges 2016). UCO offers over 115 undergraduate degrees and 75 graduate degrees for over 13,000 students, and within this number, there are international students from 100 countries worldwide, including Thailand. Moreover, there are many interesting facilities and extracurricular programs for students.

UCO is interested in academic collaboration with KU through Student and Faculty Exchange Programs and the Study USA Visiting Program in various faculties such as business administration, engineering, social sciences, music, etc. UCO has a Thai lecturer in the music department named Dr. Chindarat Charoenwongse-Shaw, who is excellent at the piano. At the end of the discussion, administrators and lecturers at KU agreed to start considering the tentative draft of the MoU with UCO. Lastly, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs, presented a souvenir to Mr. Andrew Hill, Assistant Regional Director, Asia Pacific, Office of Global Affairs, and everyone participated in a group photo session.
