The Office of the Education Council organized the third Thai-Russian Roundtable: Collaboration on Gifted Education and Research under the theme “Education during COVID-19 Pandemic: Turning Crisis into Opportunity” in the form of a virtual meeting via electronic system between 16-17 September 2021.
On Thursday 16 September 2021 at 13.15 PM – 13.30 PM, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of this event and delivered an Inaugural Address to the attended audience. In this regard, a report to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was given by Associate Professor Dr. Khunying Sumonta Promboon, Chairperson of the Thai-Russian Roundtable Working Group and welcoming remarks was given by H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Thailand.
The Office of the Education Council scheduled to host the Third Thai – Russian Roundtable from 16 – 17 September 2021 online along with the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Thailand, by inviting over 22 Thai and Russian guest speakers including more than 170 participants from elementary, secondary and higher education institutions in Thailand and Russia attending this online meeting. The objective is to discuss best practices and innovations in the field of online education during COVID-19 pandemic. On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs, Kasetsart University attended the opening ceremony of the meeting for the hearing of speakers who are officials and representatives from educational organizations and research institutions from Thailand and Russia.
Keynote Speakers are as follows.
- Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Deputy Minister of Education gave a lecture on the topic of “Model of Basic Education Learning in Thailand during COVID-19 Pandemic”
- Dr. Vladimir Dubrovsky, Mathematics Department, Kolmogorov School of Moscow State University gave a lecture on the topic of “Using Interactive Mathematical Systems in Distant Teaching”
- Dr. Pratin Leanchumroon, 2021 Princess Maha Chakri Awardee, Phang Nga Technical College gave a lecture on the topic of “Education management in Thai Vocational Education in the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic”
- Dr. Chawin Chantharasenawong, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi & Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation gave a lecture on the topic of “STEM Education in Thai Universities under COVID-19 Pandemic”
The Third Thai – Russian Roundtable is be held on two consecutive days from 16 – 17 September 2021 online. The first day of the meeting included a panel discussion, Part I: Presentation of Education Practices during COVID-19 Pandemic at K-12, Vocational and Higher Education Levels: Practice, Impact, Gain and Loss was honorary Co-Chairs by Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara, Advisor to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Dr. Vasilii Pavlov, Director of Sakha Junior Science Academy. This was followed by a topic sharing of various academic presentations from guest speakers from Thailand and Russia, respectively.
