International Faculty Development program (IFDP-2021)

On 5 July 2021 (16:00-17:30), Associate Professor Dr. Prapinwadee Sirisupluxana, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Research, Faculty of Economics, participated in the Online International Faculty Development program (IFDP-2021) via Blackboard Collaborate that was organized by Chandigarh University, India.  Representatives from several partner universities also participated: (University Malaysia Pahang (Malaysia), Universiti Putra Malaysia (Malaysia), Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand), University of Ioannina (Greece), Nanyang Technological University (People’s Republic of China), University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), and University of Stuttgart (Germany).

The seminar provided an opportunity for representatives of the partner universities to present on a wide-range of topics, with presentations given by experts in a variety of fields. Associate Professor Dr. Prapinwadee Sirisupluxana presented the topic “Roles of Government and HEIs on Food Security (FS) and Sustainable Agriculture (SA) in Thailand”. There were several subtopics: the global Food Security (FS) situation, Thailand’s Sustainable Agriculture (SA) plan, the current situation of food security in Thailand agricultural industries, and the Thai government’s agricultural development plan, including various sustainable agricultural systems now used in Thailand (Integrated Farming System, New Theory Agriculture, Organic Agriculture, and Natural Farming Systems). At the end of the seminar, the representative from Kasetsart University shared information about training programs and the Higher Education Plan for Sustainable Agriculture in Thailand, and answered questions on issues of interest to the audience.
