On Wednesday 29 January 2020, at 13:30 am, in the meeting room 9 on the 2nd floor of the Golden Jubilee building, Kasetsart University. Associate Professor Dr. Sornprach THANISAWANYANGKURA, Vice President for Planning, together with Associate Professor Dr. Miti RUCHANURUCKS, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; Assistant Professor Dr. Thitipong SATIRAMATEKUL, Vice President for Research and Academic Service, the Faculty of Engineering Kamphang Saen Campus; Dr. Varunya ATTASENA, Head of DATC, Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Kamphang Saen Campus; Dr. Jiraporn PRADABWONG, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, the Faculty of Engineering Sri Racha Campus; and Miss Araya BIJAPHALA, Director of International Affairs Division welcomed Mr. Didier DESPLANCHE, General Director of École Catholique des Arts et Métiers (ECAM) Lyon, France and Mr. Yodsawat IAMJAROENCHAI, Director of ECAM Lasalle Asia Pacific Co. Ltd. on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University.
Due to a prior discussion of academic cooperation between Kasetsart University and ECAM on Tuesday 7 January 2020 led by Associate Professor Dr. Sornprach THANISAWANYANGKURA, Vice President for Planning and Mr. Yodsawat IAMJAROENCHAI, Director of ECAM Lasalle Asia Pacific Co. Ltd. The focus has been primarily on academic cooperation between Kasetsart University and ECAM Lyon. Both sides are agreed to start to look into the general MOU for the first collaboration before going into any details of each activities; such as student exchange, professor exchange, summer or winter short program, research internship, professor internship in France, etc. as well as to exchange the syllabus course outline of each Engineering program at later stage after the signed of MOU has been established.
On the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University by Mr. Didier DESPLANCHE, General Director of École Catholique des Arts et Métiers (ECAM) Lyon, France. He wished therefore to meet with the university administrators and faculty involved with an emphasis on a true collaboration between each other. The main objective is to make ECAM and Kasetsart University could mutually share concept for industries and the training center in the form of degree, non-degree, internship for the benefit of students and faculty members, as well as all relevant research and projects with common interests for future collaboration such as the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Project (EEC), Digital Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Robotics and Technology and etc. This will include arranging for an official signing of the MOU between the two institutions and discussed how to apply additional funding sources from both countries. The meeting will summarize these issues in order to consider and approve and be used as a guideline for cooperation in the future.
ECAM Lyon is part of LaSallian Universities, the largest education network in the world. It already has established cooperative links with some of Thai universities, namely Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Mahidol University, Chiang Mai University, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
