A Courtesy Visit of H.E. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan

  On Thursday 3 October 2019, at 10.00 pm., at meeting room 9 on the 2nd floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center at Kasetsart University. Dr. Chongrak WACHRINRAT, Acting President of Kasetsart University along with Assistant Professor Dr. Nikhom LAEMSAK, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Assistant Professor Dr. Kobsak WANTHONGCHAI, Vice-dean for Research and Human resource, Faculty of Forestry, Assistant Professor Dr. Sasitorn TONGCHITPAKDEE, Vice-dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Assistant Professor Dr. Waraphon PHIMPRAPHAI, Vice-dean for graduate studies, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Donludee JAISUT, Vice-dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, and university personnel welcomed H.E. Mr. Tshewang Chophel DORJI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bhutan and his spouse; on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University.

  The purpose of this visit is to fasten the relationship between Thailand and Bhutan, especially in educational and research contexts. Hence, Dr. Chongrak WACHRINRAT gave welcoming remarks and overview information of Kasetsart University, depicted the expertise in agriculture, food, and technology as being one of the pioneer university in Thailand. Simultaneously, H.E. Mr. Tshewang Chophel DORJI interested to increase the number of Bhutanese students to study at Kasetsart University, especially in the Aerospace Engineering Program, and also encourage KU administrators to visit Bhutan in celebration of 30th years of Thai – Bhutan diplomatic relationship to strengthen the bond and seeking for more academic collaboration in the future. Hence, representatives from various faculties also shared some thought on the collaborative activities cooperated with the Bhutanese, such as Faculty of Veterinary Medicine which currently had Bhutanese students studying, or Faculty of Business Administration which used to conduct a training course for Bhutanese Government officer, or Faculty of Agriculture which accept many Bhutanese students under the TICA project, etc.

All in all, Dr. Chongrak WACHRINRAT rest assured that Kasetsart University is ready to cooperate with the Bhutanese with all kinds of support and collaboration in the future.
