On Wednesday 25 September 2019 at 10.00 a.m., in the meeting room of the International Affairs Division on the 10th floor of the Golden Jubilee building at Kasetsart University, Miss Araya BIJAPHALA, Director of International Affairs Division; welcomed Miss Rita CADIMA, Vice President and Miss Dina AMARO, International Office, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal; on the occasion of visiting to Kasetsart University.
On this opportunity, Miss Araya BIJAPHALA, Director of International Affairs Division warmly welcomed and introduced the background with a video presentation of the university and providing broad information about Kasetsart University; and also mentioned international programs offering at Kasetsart University that can be joint collaborated, such as the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) Faculty of Engineering, Research collaboration projects, Portuguese language course, Mobility Opportunities regarding Erasmus Mundus grants etc. Then, the representative of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal presented information about the institute.
The purpose of this visit was to looking for partnerships with Asian Universities in order to reinforce the internationalization and to attract international students who may enrich the learning process in an international atmosphere. Designed for today’s students, the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria has a set of excellent study conditions to the 12,500 students from over 70 countries presently enrolled.
The Polytechnic Institute of Leiria is a public institution of Higher Education in Portugal that offers programmes on Undergraduate Degree, Masters, Post-Graduate and Technology Specialization, especially in Engineering. The Polytechnic Institute of Leiria has 12,000 students, 1200 teachers (60% with PhD) and staff, 49 Undergraduate Programmes, 72 Postgraduate Programmes, and 39 Professional Higher Technical Courses – TeSP. For internationalization, the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria has 1500 International Students, 360 Students on International Mobility, 70 Different Nationalities, and 400 International Cooperation Agreements. After the meeting, both institutions are agreed and interested in establishing a general academic cooperation in the future.
